What is Twisted Gears?
_Twisted Gears is a one day
mini convention for both
Steampunkers and anyone new or is interested in the world of Steampunk.
There will be many workshops and panels such as "A Gentleman's Duel,"
where one can learn the official rules of said duels during the era, and
"Cane Martial Arts" such as the one shown in the Sherlock Holmes movie.
Plus, by registering, either pre-reg or at the door, you are able to
enter the night giveaway where some neat prizes awaits. And speaking of
night, the day comes to an end with a nice dance for any ladies or gents
to dance, mingle, and socialize.

::BEGIN TRANSMISSION:: *static*....*more static with some vague curses in the background*...T....TESTING....oh for the love of.....kssssshhh....GORRAM AUTOMI...itter...oh hey it works now. *clears throat* We hope that everyone had a wonder Christmas and New Years. Looks like we survived the "Apocalypse." Anyways! We apologize for the long wait. Due to circumstances that were out of our powers, with a sadden heart, we would like to announce that Twisted Gears 2013 will not be happening.
We wished to keep Twisted Gears at the University of Houston Main Campus because of the location, free parking, food near the area, the hotel on campus, and room availability. We've been working very hard in trying to make sure it happened again for 2013, but due to the construction going on at UH we will not be having it this year. The school has informed us that the construction will be done by Fall 2013 so Twisted Gears will start up again in the Spring of 2014. We, again, want to thank everyone who went and to those who have emailed me asking if it was going to happen again. We took a chance in making this convention and the community has shown me that they loved it and want more of it. So We are working hard to make it better while I wait for construction to end. Please continue to show your support for this and the Steampunk Community and we promise to keep you in my mind when we am working on the ideas and plans. We will be posting up dates as the year goes on, so please keep checking here for any news.
The contact page will still be up. Emails will be answered and I apologize ahead of time if there is a delay for answers. If that happens, it means that our violinist/swordman's alter ego has taken over along with the problems that comes with.

We are honestly very much surprised about the outcome and hope everyone had a great time. Critiques are most welcome so feel free to spam the contact form. Plans are already starting to form *chuckle* for next year's event. We wish those who came would continue to support and those who couldn't make it will make it in Twisted Gear's following years! Bye for now, but continue to check up on the site every once in a while. Who knows. You may be lucky to see sneak previews for next year! ::end transmission::
